(DAY 1): Not Just Looking Younger, Living Better: Highlights from the 13th PAAAMMI Annual Convention in Manila

Taking the stage at Shangri-La The Fort, Prof. Chan emphasizes evidence-based standards in regenerative medicine: “Not every stem cell, not every peptide, not every exosome is created equal.

MANILA (Sept 6, 2025) – The 13th Annual Convention of the Philippine Academy of Aesthetic and Age Management Medicine Inc. (PAAAMMI) wrapped up this weekend at Shangri-La The Fort, Manila, underscoring a clear message: the future of aesthetics lies in science-driven regenerative medicine that improves not only appearance but also long-term health and vitality.

With the theme “Regenerative Aesthetics Redefined: The New Age of Longevity,” the two-day gathering brought together regional leaders, practitioners, and innovators to explore the next frontier in aesthetics and longevity. Headlining the program were Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Mike Chan and Dr. Glen K. Alvin of the European Wellness Biomedical Group, whose lectures highlighted both groundbreaking therapies and the need for evidence-based standards.

From Nanonised Peptides to Stem Cells and Exosomes

The first day opened with Dr. Glen K. Alvin presenting “Game-changing Nanonised Organo Peptides (NOP): Total Regeneration & Rejuvenation in Aesthetics.” Alvin described how nano-scale peptides can trigger the body to self-repair at the cellular level, offering more than cosmetic improvement.

“We are entering an era where rejuvenation is not just cosmetic—it’s systemic,” Alvin told delegates. “Nanonised organo peptides work at the cellular level, triggering repair that the body has long forgotten how to do.”

Later in the afternoon, Prof. Mike Chan delivered a hard-hitting keynote titled “Stemcells, Peptides, Exosomes: Why Some Work & Why Many Don’t Even Work at All?” He cautioned against the proliferation of unregulated regenerative products, stressing that without purity, safety, and proper validation, many treatments simply fail.

“Not every stem cell, not every peptide, not every exosome is created equal,” Chan said. “Without rigorous science, these so-called therapies can do more harm than good.”

The opening day concluded not only with serious discussion, but also with a lighthearted fellowship night. Delegates enjoyed retro music, colorful spotlights, and live performances — with Prof. Chan himself joining participants on the dance floor, a reminder that longevity is also about joy, connection, and celebrating life
