KOTA KINABALU, Sabah, Aug 5, 2025 — Global experts gathered today in Sabah for Day 2 of the European Wellness 2025 Symposium, focusing on the growing burden of osteoporosis and sarcopenia. The full-day hybrid CPD-accredited conference, hosted at the European Wellness Academy (EWA) in Alamesra, was held in collaboration with Bogomolets National Medical University and the Institute of Gerontology, Kyiv, Ukraine.

Attended by healthcare professionals from across Asia, Europe and Americas, the event awarded eight CPD points and featured a series of in-depth sessions led by top bio-regenerative researchers, physicians, and educators in the field of regenerative medicine.

Morning Highlights

Opening the day’s proceedings, Prof. Dr. Olha Nishkumai described osteoporosis as a “silent epidemic,” emphasizing novel diagnostic methods to detect bone fragility before clinical symptoms arise.

Prof. Dr. Nataliia Grygorieva followed with a session on FRAX, a globally recognized tool for assessing fracture risk. “Precision in early-stage risk profiling is key,” she told participants.

In a keynote lecture, Prof. Dr. Dmytro Klokol shared protocols on hormonal optimization to prevent and reverse age-related bone and muscle loss. His address underscored the need for integrated, individualized therapies that combine hormonal, nutritional, and regenerative strategies.

Inflammatory Arthritis and Sarcopenia

Midday speakers turned the spotlight to sarcopenia, the degenerative loss of skeletal muscle mass, particularly in the context of inflammatory arthritis.

Prof. Dr. Marta Dzhus, Assoc. Prof. Tetiana Karasevska, and Assoc. Prof. Halyna Mostbauer each presented on different clinical aspects of the condition, including progression, diagnosis, and early intervention. Their combined message was clear: sarcopenia must be treated not just as a symptom, but as a serious, standalone disease.

Practical Approaches and Innovations

Afternoon sessions tackled real-world challenges. Dr. Margaryta Iemelianova addressed osteoporosis in menopause, advocating for a holistic approach that includes hormone balancing and lifestyle changes.

Dr. Volodymyr Chernykh presented dietary frameworks aimed at reducing the burden of age-related bone loss, while Dr. Simon Yefimov shared screening and detection innovations that enable earlier intervention for muscle wasting in older adults.

Closing Keynote

Wrapping up the day, Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Mike Chan, founder of European Wellness Biomedical Group, delivered a historical and forward-looking talk on the Evolution of Integrative Medicine in the treatment of osteoporosis and sarcopenia.

“By combining regenerative science with clinical insight, we can address these conditions not as inevitabilities of aging, but as treatable and even reversible imbalances,” he said.

A closing panel Q&A session provided a platform for interdisciplinary exchange among the faculty and participants, reinforcing European Wellness’s ongoing commitment to collaborative healthcare solutions.

A Global Platform for Regenerative Learning

This symposium is part of the broader initiative by the European Wellness Academy (EWA) to educate and empower healthcare professionals in bio-regenerative medicine, stem cell therapies, and anti-aging science.

With centers in Germany, Switzerland, Greece, and Malaysia, EWA continues to lead the global movement toward precision, preventive, and personalized medicine, rooted in Swiss-German biological medicine and bio-molecular therapy.
