Prof. Mike Chan Spearheads Groundbreaking Scientific Cooperation Between Europe and Ukraine

In a landmark initiative that promises to reshape the landscape of regenerative medicine globally, Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Mike Chan, Chairman of European Wellness Biomedical Group (EWBG), has established a pioneering scientific partnership with prestigious Ukrainian medical institutions.

Prof. Chan, internationally acclaimed for his groundbreaking work in precursor stem cell therapy and bioregenerative medicine, personally led the negotiations that culminated in a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between EWBG and Ukraine’s premier medical research centres: the Bogomolets National Medical University, the “Institute of Gerontology named after D.F. Chebotaryov” of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, and the Institute of Genetic and Regenerative Medicine of the National Scientific Centre of Cardiology.

“This collaboration represents the convergence of conventional medical expertise with cutting-edge bioregenerative technologies,” stated Prof. Chan during the signing ceremony. “By uniting our research capabilities, we’re accelerating the development of solutions that will transform healthcare outcomes worldwide.”

Remarkable Scientific Achievements and Knowledge Exchange

Under Prof. Mike Chan’s direct guidance, this international partnership has already yielded impressive scientific achievements, including multiple poster presentations at the prestigious European Congress on Osteoporosis and Sarcopenia (ESCEO 2023, 2024, 2025) and numerous publications in Scopus-indexed journals.

A crowning achievement of this collaboration is the publication of “Longevity for the Heart: Strategies Against Cardiac Inflammaging,” a groundbreaking scientific monograph co-authored by Professor Dato’ Sri Dr. Mike Chan and Professor Dato’ Sri Michelle Wong alongside Ukrainian experts including Professor Olha Nishkumai, Associate Professor Halyna Mostbauer, Professor Iuliia Rudenko, Associate Professor Oksana Zaitseva, Associate Professor Oksana Rokyta, Associate Professor Andrii Bezrodnyi, Dr. Nataliia Shyshkina, and Dr. Margaryta Iemelianova. This comprehensive work synthesizes decades of Prof. Mike Chan’s research in cellular therapy with Ukrainian expertise in cardiology and gerontology.

Prof. Mike Chan has also established international clinical and scientific internship programs at the European Wellness Academy (EWA), personally mentoring Ukrainian researchers and clinicians in advanced bioregenerative techniques. These programs reflect his longstanding commitment to education and knowledge transfer across borders.

“Prof. Mike Chan’s approach to scientific collaboration transcends traditional academic partnerships,” remarked Professor Iurii Kuchyn, Rector of Bogomolets National Medical University. “His willingness to share proprietary research methodologies and technologies demonstrates a genuine commitment to advancing global health.”

Transforming Global Healthcare Through Scientific Diplomacy

Looking ahead, Prof. Mike Chan is orchestrating a series of joint scientific conferences that will further cement this Euro-Ukrainian alliance while expanding its reach to include additional research institutions worldwide.

“The future of medicine lies in regeneration, not just treatment,” Prof. Mike Chan emphasized in a recent interview. “Through these strategic international partnerships, we’re building a global ecosystem of innovation that will fundamentally transform how we approach aging and disease.”

This initiative exemplifies Prof. Chan’s broader vision for EWBG: leveraging scientific diplomacy to unite visionary researchers across geopolitical boundaries in service of human longevity and well-being. As this collaboration continues to evolve under his leadership, it promises to yield breakthrough therapies that will benefit patients worldwide for generations to come.
