KOTA KINABALU, July 23, 2025 —  When Christy Chung first stepped into the European Wellness Premier Center in Kota Kinabalu six years ago, she wasn’t just seeking rejuvenation, she was seeking science she could trust. Today, the Hong Kong actress, best known for her timeless beauty and relentless energy, returns not just as a client, but as part of the European Wellness extended family.

Accompanied by her husband, Shawn Zhang, and her two daughters, Cayla Zhang (15) and Jaden Chang (17), Christy’s latest visit on July 21, 2025 marked her sixth wellness retreat to the Borneo-based flagship clinic, a place she now calls “a second home.”

“I feel like I’m in my 30s again,” Christy said candidly in a previous interview about her regenerative treatments. “I’m able to work long hours, maintain focus, and keep my energy up. It’s not just about looking younger—it’s about feeling good and being able to pursue my dreams without feeling drained.”

That transformation, she says, is thanks to the targeted organ-specific stem cell therapies pioneered by Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Mike Chan, founder of the European Wellness Biomedical Group. Over the years, Prof. Chan has become more than just her go-to expert in cell therapy—he’s become a close family friend.

A Mentor in Wellness

During this year’s visit, Prof. Chan presented Cayla, Christy’s youngest daughter, with two newly released, autographed books on Hair and Scalp Health, a gesture that touched both mother and daughter.

Prof. Chan has encouraged Cayla’s growing interest in bioregenerative science. “She’s very keen,” he remarked. “It’s wonderful to see such curiosity at her age. She reminds me why the future of wellness must be shared with the next generation.”

Indeed, Cayla, bright-eyed and inquisitive, has expressed interest in learning under Prof. Chan’s mentorship—a potential mentee in the making.

A Clinic Like No Other

Located in the heart of Kota Kinabalu, the European Wellness Premier Centre is part of a global network of integrative medical facilities led by Prof. Chan. The state-of-the art wellness centre launched on August 22 last year, specializes in organ-specific precursor stem cell therapy, a field Prof. Chan helped pioneer over decades of scientific research.

Treatments range from cellular rejuvenation, brain optimization, immune restoration, and hormonal balancing, backed by personalized diagnostics and decades of clinical data.

“Our goal is not just to extend lifespan,” Prof. Chan has said, “but to improve healthspan and brainspan, because what good is a long life if it’s not vibrant and purposeful?”

A Husband’s Endorsement

For Shawn Zhang, Christy’s husband and fellow wellness enthusiast, the transformation he’s witnessed in his wife has made him a believer. “I believe that stem cell and cell therapy are the future of human medicine,” he stated.

“Christy’s energy, her focus and her whole physiology has become more vibrant. And Prof. Mike Chan is living proof of his own science.”

Zhang himself has undergone the clinic’s comprehensive wellness program, which includes stem cell infusions, exosome therapy, and advanced nutraceutical support. His reserved, measured demeanor is matched by a deep sense of trust in Chan’s methods. “It’s more than treatment, it’s transformation.”

A Symbol of Friendship

In a moment that captured the warmth of their connection, Christy surprised Prof. Chan with a gift that’s taken Asia by storm: a Labubu doll, part of the cult toy phenomenon by artist Kasing Lung. The toothy, whimsical plush—equal parts fantasy and fashion—has become a collector’s item among celebrities and creatives, representing joy, nostalgia, and childlike wonder. “It’s a small token,” Christy said, “for someone who’s made such a big impact on our lives.”

Next, their visit to the European Wellness Premier Center’s Salt therapeutic room continued with a delightful Crybaby Doll unboxing session amidst the serene environment of halo therapy respiratory cleanse.

They shared a playful banter while unveiling their vibrant Crybaby Dolls, each doll exuding a distinct personality that added a whimsical flair to their interaction. This heartwarming moment was captured in an unboxing video, later shared on social media, offering viewers a glimpse into Christy’s wellness journey and further igniting public interest.

“Wow, this is so unique. I never really paid much attention to Labubu before, but today I truly saw how special it is,” Prof. Mike Chan said, smiling as he held the collectible in his hands. “The first one feels like it represents me,” he added.

As the family started their visit to Kota Kinabalu with a short holiday in Semporna, Christy reflected on what keeps her coming back to European Wellness year after year.

“This isn’t just a clinic,” she said. “It’s a place that understands the science of youth, but also the humanity behind it. With Prof. Chan, I feel seen—not just as a public figure, but as a person who wants to stay strong for my career, my family, and myself.”

In a world of quick fixes and surface-level beauty, Christy Chung’s journey is a reminder that real wellness runs deep—and sometimes, it begins with trust, friendship, and the courage to choose something different.

“Let’s close our eyes, count to three, and open them together to see what surprise awaits!” Christy laughed. As the reveal happened, Prof. Mike Chan chuckled, “Is this the one I really wanted? It might be! And look, my favorite color too.
