Cambodia Welcomes Stem Cell Pioneer: Prof. Mike Chan Presents Regenerative Medicine Vision to Top Health Officials

PHNOM PENH, June 3, 2025 — Renowned scientist and regenerative medicine pioneer Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Mike Chan, Chairman of the European Wellness Biomedical Group (EWBG), led a high-level delegation to Cambodia this week, continuing his regional outreach promoting cellular therapy, education and biomedical innovations.
The visit, hosted by the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia, featured a formal meeting with H.E. Prof. Lem Dara, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health, representing the Minister of Health, His Excellency Prof. Chheang Ra. The meeting took place on Tuesday morning at the Ministry of Health headquarters.
During the meeting, Prof. Lem Dara briefed the delegation on the Ministry’s 9 priority strategies and 3 main priorities that are being actively implemented to improve Cambodia’s healthcare system across both public and private sectors. The Secretary of State emphasized the Ministry’s focus on human resource training and service expansion through the adoption of new technologies that are internationally recognized (especially by the World Health Organization) and appropriate for the Cambodian context.
Prof. Mike Chan, introduced as “a modern medical scientist specializing in immune systems and cellular repair, as well as a researcher, author, and innovator,” delivered a presentation on EWBG’s advancements in precursor stem cells, organ-specific rejuvenation, and R&D-backed longevity therapies—highlighting the success of EW centers across Asia and Europe.
“We are not just offering treatments. We’re offering hope—by extending the healthspan and rebuilding wellness through precision regenerative solutions,” said Prof. Mike Chan during his presentation.
“Prof. Mike Chan is truly an extraordinary individual. After witnessing his presentation to our Ministry of Health Committee, His insights will be invaluable as we work to advance Cambodia’s healthcare capabilities” said H.E. Prof. Lem Dara.
The delegation included business and medical leaders from the Singapore Medical Center and MEDEZE Group PCL, Thailand. The session was attended by Cambodian health officials, including H.E. Prof. Chhea Chhorvan, Director of the National Institute for Public Health, Dr. Lim Seng Ngon, representing the Department of International Cooperation (DIC) on behalf of the Ministry of Health among other ministry directors and division heads.
In a significant development, European Wellness Biomedical Group in collaboration with Singapore Medical Center reached an agreement with the Cambodian Ministry of Health committee to establish a comprehensive educational program. According to Prof. Mike Chan, this initiative will focus on educating both doctors and non-medical professionals in the fields of bioregenerative medicine, longevity, preventive and anti-aging medicine. This educational partnership represents a concrete outcome of the discussions and aligns perfectly with the Ministry’s expressed priority on human resource development.
The broader discussions included proposals for establishing stem cell-focused research partnerships, technological adoption, and academic cooperation in anti-aging medicine. Both parties expressed willingness to cooperate, with the Secretary of State specifically highlighting that collaboration would begin primarily with specialized human resource training in modern medical technologies that are recognized worldwide.
“Cambodia is well-positioned to embrace advanced regenerative solutions. This meeting is a foundation for long-term collaboration in research, training, and health system modernization,” Prof. Chan added.
Prof. Mike Chan expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Ministry of Health for the opportunity to meet and agreed to continue discussions to create opportunities for human resource development in internationally recognized modern medical technologies.
This visit aligns with Cambodia’s commitment to enhancing medical infrastructure and positioning itself as a hub for advanced therapeutic modalities in Southeast Asia.
In a significant development underscoring the importance of the collaboration, the Cambodian Ministry of Health has officially featured Prof. Mike Chan’s visit on their government portal. The Ministry’s social media account shared multiple photographs of the high-level meeting, with the translated headline ‘Cambodia’s Ministry of Health Explores Advanced Medical Technology Partnership with European Wellness Biomedical Group.’ This official acknowledgment by Cambodia’s health authorities elevates the partnership’s credibility and demonstrates the government’s commitment to the initiative. The post includes several images capturing key moments from the discussions, including formal handshakes and the presentation session, complete with the Ministry’s official emblem prominently displayed. This public endorsement on a government platform signals strong institutional support for the educational program in bioregenerative medicine, longevity, preventive and anti-aging medicine which positions the collaboration within Cambodia’s formal healthcare development framework.
