Showcasing ‘Village Boy’ Talent on the Global Stage
KOSMO: Can you give a general explanation about European Wellness and its current achievements?
MIKE CHAN: European Wellness is a global leader in regenerative medicine and integrated health care solutions with a mission to empower individuals to take control of their health and well-being. We have an extensive network that includes 46 premier centers and a team of highly skilled doctors from various countries across the world. In addition to our newest branch in Kota Kinabalu, we also have many recognized centers globally, including in Lugano, Switzerland; Frankfurt, Germany; and Santorini and Athens, Greece, as well as various locations across Asia, including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. Our organization is at the forefront of the wellness revolution, delivering innovative and personalized treatments to clients. Our mission is rooted in a comprehensive approach known as the DDRR Paradigm, which stands for diagnosis, detoxification, repair, and regeneration.
When did you start this business?
It began in Geneva, Switzerland almost 40 years ago, and from there, the empire has continued to expand worldwide. During that time, I learned from experts and also started formulating products, ventured into manufacturing, and later entered the field of education. Interestingly, we don’t do any promotion, sales, or marketing.
For example, at our premises in Kota Kinabalu, we don’t have a promotion or sales department. Instead, we focus on educating the community and customers. I personally provide briefings to target groups. We don’t sell medications, but we give accurate and complete explanations about stem cells, diseases, therapies, and much more.
You have a successful business empire and are an expert in the field of bio-regenerative medicine, right?
I have over 30 years of extensive experience in this field and have lived in Germany and Switzerland. Throughout my career in this field, I have been exposed to the concept of treating the root cause, not just the symptoms of diseases. For instance, if you have trouble sleeping, you may take sleeping pills, but I would advise you not to rely on them; instead, we look for the root cause of the problem. If you only focus on treating the symptoms, it becomes a daily issue because the root problem needs to be addressed. I have written more than 50 scientific books and hold over 50 international patents related to stem cells, immunology, and biotechnology. I’m often abroad to continue raising public awareness about this field, and I’m only in Malaysia for a few days each month. During the rest of the time, I am at various medical centers and branches or invited to attend conferences and events worldwide. I have conducted more than 1,000 lectures, seminars, and symposiums around the world, sharing my knowledge on regenerative medicine, anti-aging therapies, and biopharmaceuticals in over 80 countries.
Who are your clients?
We help ensure our clients stay healthy and youthful. Our clients include many notable figures, artists, models, athletes, and people from various income levels, including some from underprivileged groups. They are supported through our CSR programs.
Can you explain your latest project concerning the European Wellness Center in Sabah?
We aim to make Sabah a leading destination for integrative medical tourism, pioneering advancements in holistic health care. This center features a biopharmaceutical and wellness hub, which is expected to attract stem cell bio-regenerative researchers from around the world, positioning Sabah as a global leader in wellness education tourism. The center will offer 60 advanced regenerative medical services and holistic wellness, focusing on personalized health care solutions. It also provides a modern and welcoming environment for clients. Furthermore, the center serves as an educational hub, offering innovative research and enhancing professional health care training in advanced treatment methodologies.
The center was founded in 2016 and is officially opening on August 22, 2024. The launch event was attended by many dignitaries from Sabah. Our mission is to empower individuals to achieve optimal health through personalized and evidence-based integrative medicine. We also aim to make the center a driving force in medical tourism.
What are your future plans?
We have had a factory in Germany for 40 years, but operational costs are rising, including labor and doctor fees. To avoid being burdened by rising costs in the future, we plan to establish a production factory in Malaysia and also open factories in China, Indonesia, Vietnam, and India. For this project, I need funding and collaboration with partners. We see the lower costs in the market, including cheaper labor, which makes us interested in pursuing this project.
