KUALA LUMPUR, May 25, 2025 — In a defining moment of the 25th ASEAN Leadership and Partnership Forum, Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Mike Chan, a pioneer in regenerative medicine, was awarded the ASEAN Leading Medical, Health & Wellness Lifetime Achievement Award for his transformative contributions to global healthcare.

Held at the InterContinental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, the forum convened Southeast Asia’s most influential leaders, including heads of government, ministers, and senior policymakers. Under the theme “Unleashing ASEAN’s Potential Through Innovative, Inclusive and Sustainable Growth”, the event spotlighted pressing regional challenges—from digital disruption and climate threats to institutional reform and trade integration.

Amid this high-level gathering, Prof. Chan stood out—not only as the only biomedical scientist to receive an award—but as a visionary whose scientific legacy mirrors ASEAN’s own aspirations for innovation, health equity, and strategic resilience.

“This recognition strengthens our commitment to bridging science and patient care through innovative, ethical, and effective regenerative solutions,” said Prof. Chan, whose decades-long leadership at European Wellness Biomedical Group has transformed regenerative medicine and advanced personalized healthcare across Asia, Europe, and the U.S.

The Prime Minister laid out Vietnam’s roadmap for 8% GDP growth driven by infrastructure, innovation, and institutional reform—an approach aligned with Prof. Chan’s global push for integrated, science-backed healthcare ecosystems.
