BANGKOK — Prof. Mike Chan Highlights Organ-Based Cellular Therapy as Key to Extending Healthspan and Brainspan

“Longevity means nothing without Healthspan.” Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Mike Chan urged delegates to rethink aging—not by lifespan, but by the quality of the years we live.

BANGKOK, Thailand (November 9, 2025)  — On Day 1 of the We Are The World Global Summit, Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Mike Chan, Chairman of the European Wellness Biomedical Group, delivered  a thought-provoking session that challenged international delegates to reconsider the true essence of aging.

Speaking to a room of 30 invited specialists and delegates, the veteran researcher, who has spent more than 40 years at the forefront of stem cells and regenerative medicine — presented a session titled “Longevity Through Healthspan & Brainspan via Cellspan.”

Challenging Old Assumptions About Aging

Prof. Chan opened by questioning the conventional obsession with lifespan alone, arguing that longevity without functionality is a hollow achievement.

“What’s the point of living long if you are not healthy? What’s the point of reaching 100 or even 120 if you’re already bedridden at 75?”

he asked the audience.

He explained that aging is fundamentally a process of organ deterioration, not simply the passage of time — and that with evidence-based regenerative strategies, biological age reversal is now realistically achievable by 6 to 18 years.

As an example, he cited his own test results, revealing that although his chronological age was 64 at the time, his biological age measured only 46.

Science Behind Age Reversal

Prof. Chan’s keynote introduced scientific pillars behind biological age reversal, including:

  • Stem cell replenishment
  • Mitochondrial repair
  • Modulation of gene expression
  • Peptide bioregulation
  • Immune reconstruction

He emphasized that the key is not stopping aging altogether, which is impossible — but delaying and reversing the biological deterioration of organs.

“Most organs don’t last 75 years, let alone 120,”

he noted, explaining that regenerative therapies are designed to maintain functionality as long as possible.

Global Outreach, Research Advocacy & Humanitarian Cases

During the session, Prof. Chan highlighted his decades-long medical and philanthropic efforts across continents.

He recounted:

  • Advocacy for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s research, calling for stronger investment commitments.
  • Training pediatric doctors in Baoding, China to better diagnose and manage autism.
  • Representing German stem-cell expertise in multiple high-level meetings with Chinese medical authorities and international mayors.
  • The case of a totally blind patient, David McDavid, who regained sight in one eye using a specialized eye drop formulation he developed — a breakthrough so significant that it drew the attention of high-profile observers, including David Furnish, husband of Elton John.

Prof. Mike Chan stressed that his work is guided by conscience, not profit. In one instance, he provided full treatment free of charge to a Vietnamese woman suffering from end-stage lung cancer with metastasis to the brain.

“I may be an entrepreneur, but I lead with conscience,” he shared. “If I know a patient cannot improve, I will not treat them.”

Biological age can be reversed. Prof. Chan broke down the science from stem cells to mitochondria—showing how a 6–18 year age reversal is now achievable.

A Strategic Pivot Toward Asia

Prof. Chan also announced a major strategic shift in his group’s future direction.

Despite building his career between Germany and Switzerland, he affirmed that Asia is now the center of global growth for wellness, anti-aging, and high-end healthcare.

“The money now is in Asia. The purchasing power is here,”

he stated, adding that European markets are weakened by conflict and rising operating costs.

While his manufacturing remains primarily in Germany and Switzerland, his business expansion, clinical programs, and innovation centers will increasingly be based in Asia and the Middle East.

Practical Advice for Staying Young

Prof. Chan ended his session with simple, accessible nutritional guidelines to protect organ health, and slow physiological aging. He stressed that longevity strategies must begin with daily choices, not only advanced medical interventions.

Prof. Mike Chan announced a major shift: The audience listened intently as Prof. Mike Chan outlined a pivotal shift in global healthcare trends, declaring Asia as the emerging centre of wellness innovation. European Wellness has now confirmed its strategic pivot toward the region’s rapidly expanding health and longevity market.
