European Wellness partners with China’s provincial government to advance Education in Biological Regenerative Medicine
Edenkoben, Germany, June 30th, 2021/PRNewswire/ – European Wellness Biomedical Group (European Wellness) through its educational arm, European Wellness Academy (EWA), has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Zhifu People’s Government of Shandong Province, China to establish the first International Biological Regenerative Medicine Education Centre in Shandong Province via the “Connecting Shandong with Fortune Global 500 & Deepening Shandong – EU Cooperation” event.
In a live digital signing session, the two parties agreed on a joint venture that will see a total investment of RMB 100 million (USD 15.4 million) for the building and launching of a high-end biological regenerative medicine education centre for disease management and aesthetics in Yantai City, China.
The multimillion-dollar world-class facility is projected to supplement the Shandong provincial government’s efforts to improve resources, training, and knowledge in integrative regenerative medicine within the region, helping to meet current and future demand for specialists in the field.
The Academy’s collaboration with Shandong stands out among the many projects discussed and officiated during the event, as it comes at a time when biological regenerative medicine is rapidly emerging as an area of interest, both globally and in China. According to experts, China’s regenerative medicine market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 25% from 2020 to 2025, driven in large part as well by government initiatives offering substantial the substantial political and financial support in developing the sector.
Interest in the market in the APAC region has also risen amid increased foreign investment in the Asian healthcare industry, the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, and rising health concerns related to the prevalence of chronic diseases. According to a World Health Report by the World Health Organization (WHO), chronic diseases were responsible for nearly 60% of the world’s 56.5 million recorded deaths in 2001, as well as 46% of the global burden of disease. A report by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) also found that on average, over one-third of adults aged 15 and above in 27 OECD nations reported having two or more chronic diseases.
