TWINS Championship 104 Delivers Historic Boxing Night in Sabah as King Azim Triumphs in Landmark WBC Showdown

KOTA KINABALU, Sabah (May 10, 2026) — Sabah’s combat sports scene reached a new milestone on Saturday night as Twins Championship 104 delivered a packed evening of professional boxing, regional rivalries, and a historic World Boxing Council (WBC)-sanctioned title fight before an enthusiastic crowd at Dewan Kebudayaan Penampang.
Headlining the event was Sabah’s own Khairul “King Azim” Hamdain, who secured a hard-fought victory over Indonesia’s Suryadi Tambunan after eight intense rounds to capture the WBC Far East Featherweight title in what organizers described as a defining moment for Sabah boxing.
The championship event, broadcast live on TVS via Astro Channel 122, MYTV, as well as YouTube and TikTok streaming platforms, attracted widespread regional attention and showcased Sabah’s growing emergence as a venue for international-level combat sports events.
Among the evening’s notable guests was Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Mike K.S. Chan, who attended the main championship sessions as part of the growing collaboration between European Wellness Biomedical Group and Twins Championship.
The event was further elevated by the presence of two special VIP guests: Kilatboy, the renowned WBC Asia Continental Champion, and Emma Bell, both of whom attended the championship night and contributed to the prestige of the occasion.

Saturday’s fight card featured a mix of amateur and professional contests involving Sabah, Malaysian, and regional fighters.
Among the evening’s other notable results:
- Redza “USK” emerged victorious in a Sabah showdown bout
- Milkha defeated Josephine representing Sabah
- Lee Xiong Kit defeated Andry “The Prince”
- Gideon overcame Suico

Prof. Mike Chan was invited into the boxing ring during the live program for a short televised interview, where he spoke about athlete recovery, sports performance, regenerative wellness, and the importance of long-term health support for professional fighters.
Later in the evening, Prof. Chan was also invited to present a special award to the winner of the main event, further highlighting the partnership between the championship organizers and European Wellness.

Throughout the venue, European Wellness branding featured prominently around the boxing arena, including ringside visuals, LED screens, educational sports medicine displays, and large promotional buntings positioned at the main entrances.
The event’s visual presentation reflected a strong synergy between combat sports and regenerative wellness branding, with European Wellness logos and colors integrated across the championship setup.

Large digital screens inside the venue also featured “Special Appearance” visuals of Prof. Mike Chan during the main sessions, while sports recovery and concussion-awareness materials were displayed prominently for attendees and athletes.
The collaboration marked one of the most visible integrations yet between sports entertainment and regenerative medicine branding in Sabah.
Speaking previously during the official press conference at the European Wellness Premier Centre, Prof. Chan emphasized that elite sports increasingly require support systems beyond traditional training methods.

“Sports performance is not only about strength… It is about stamina, recovery, heart health, bone strength, brain function, emotional resilience, and oxygen delivery,” he said.

Organizers described Twins Championship 104 as one of the promotion’s biggest editions to date, combining local talent development, international competition, and expanded broadcast reach.
Now in its 104th edition, Twins Championship continues to evolve from a grassroots boxing platform into one of Southeast Asia’s rising combat sports promotions.
For many local supporters, Saturday night represented more than a sporting spectacle — it symbolized Sabah’s arrival onto the regional boxing stage.
And for European Wellness, the partnership underscored the growing convergence between sports science, athlete longevity, regenerative medicine, and high-profile sporting entertainment.
